16th Century Ledger

In our variation of this book we will use a stiff paper for the cover, leather bands, and waxed linen thread for the tacket. The bookblock is formed by sewing the sections to sturdy tapes. The cover is attached to the bookblock with tackets that go under the internal sewing tapes and out through holes in the cover and leather straps. The leather straps were further attached to the cover with decorative sewing. This gives us the opportunity to add beads and/or eyelets. The book is about 41/2" x 51/2" x 1" thick.
